We have a passion for local sourcing and creating custom menus to fit your needs, as well as highlighting North Carolina’s fine produce and ingredients. We take great pride in our scratch cooking and local sourcing.

A passion for food, from seed to fork…

Chef Blake Gotliffe started Under the Oak Farm in the spring of 2015, as a source for the freshest organic vegetables his family could have. This small, 3,000 square foot, sustainable farm is tucked away behind their home, in a quite neighborhood in the charming town of Clayton, NC. This hobby farm inspired an idea to begin hosting private dinners and catered events, which has now flourished into the award-winning full-service catering company we are today. In 2017, Under the Oak Catering was born and from day one, we have strived to always deliver 5 star food and service for every event, large or small.

What Sets Us Apart...

We have great respect for the ingredients we use and the farmers that produce them. We want to serve the highest quality catering food around, so we cook onsite at your event as close to serving as possible to ensure your guests enjoy their meal, hot and fresh!

Community

Philanthropy is a top priority of Under the Oak Catering. Either through our annual Autism Awareness Dinner, Roots for Reece Chef’s Picnic, or our weekly meal donations to local families in need, we take great pride in the help we provide for the community and will always be there for anyone in need!

Zero Waste Kitchen

The catering industry is known for a tremendous amount of food waste. We do everything in power to prevent this, including weekly meal donations of catering leftovers to families in need, our house made charcuterie program, pickles and condiments, as well as extensive cross utilization and planning of our ingredients and menus.

Quality of Life for Our Staff

Quality of life for the hospitality industry staff has always been nearly nonexistent. Long hours, low pay, and no benefits has been the norm. Not with Under the Oak! We are proud to not only pay well beyond a living wage, but we also offer all full-time employees health care, paid sick leave and vacations, profit share, staff meals, and birthday bonuses. We are nothing without our amazing team!
